Raised Garden Beds Will Benefit You, Find Out How I Make Mine
How I make raised garden beds might be different than what you would consider a raised garden bed, but here are some ideas for you.
The first thing that I had to do to help me build raised garden beds was to take and scout out my yard for the perfect spot. I know that the area around my garden would be the best place so that is where I decided to build raised garden beds.
The second thing that I did was find some landscaping timber. I know that for me I had to go to the local hard ware store to purchase the timber and you will want to make sure that they are of good quality and fairly straight for your raised garden beds.
The third thing that you will want to do for starting to build your raised garden bed is to scrape off the grass where your planning on placing your raised garden beds. I know for me the raised garden beds were more of digging into the ground and placing the timbers around to help prevent the dirt from running off because of the slope of my land.
The fourth thing that I did to start build raised garden beds was to place the timbers and have them stacked on top of each other. I would then line the timbers with plastic to keep the dirt from going out between the cracks of wood. I would leave the bottom of the raised garden beds uncovered so that any deep rooting plants would be able to root in the raised garden beds.
After I dug got the lumber stacked and secured using steel rebarb I would then fill the finished raised garden bed with dirt to allow for me to plant my garden in it. This worked out great for me in helping to get my garden space expanded. Then if I needed the extra room I can add onto the raised garden beds with shelving.
While you might be trying to expand your garden space this is what I did to help expand my garden space. I know that some people would not consider this as being raised garden beds, but for me it works out really well as a terraced space.
