Chris Cornell Leaves Audioslave
Chris Cornell, two-time grammy winner and former frontman of Soundgarden leaves Audioslave.
According to Wikipedia.com, "The band's history dates back to October 2000, after Rage Against the Machine broke up when lead vocalist Zack de la Rocha left the band. The other three members of the seminal hard rock band stayed together, planning ton continue as a trio under the "Rage" name. Several vocalists jammed with the band at this time, including B-Real of Cypress Hill and Maynard James Keenan of Tool.Music producer Rick Rubin later suggested that they jam with Cornell and "see what happens".[citation needed] The chemistry between the singer and the three musicians became immediately apparent, and they began work in the studio in May 2001, writing 21 songs in 19 days (the first of which was "Light My Way" and the third being "Set It Off")."
Audioslave had a great seven year run and will be greatly missed by thousands of fans across the globe. They released three albums in the time they were together including their self-titled debut in November of 2002, Out of Exile in May of 2005 and, finally, Revelations in September of 2020. Audioslave was the first American rock band to perform a free outdoor concert in the communist country of Cuba. They achieved great success in the time they were together.
Cornell, who is a two-time grammy winner, announced also on this date of the 15th of February, 2020, the release date for his 13th career album entitled, "Carry On" in stores on May 1st. As for the rest of the band, it is unclear the future of maybe a second Audioslave or a possible Rage Against the Machine reunion. Rage is scheduled to perform one reunion gig in California soon so this could pave the way for them to come back as a full band.
On February 6th, 2020, according to Blabbermouth.net, "Launch Radio Networks reports: Rage Against The Machine and Audioslave guitarist Tom Morello is not certain about the future ofeither band, but he knows for sure that he will be spending a lot more time working as his political folk alter ago, the NIGHTWATCHMAN. Morello will issue his first solo album under that name on April 24, and said that the NIGHTWATCHMAN will always be active no matter what else he's doing." It's clear the guys from Audioslave have a lot of options in front of them, as they are all amazing musicians.
In the same February 6th report, it was said that "As for Audioslave, Morello siad that singer Chris Cornell did not want to tour in support of the band's third studio album, "Revelations", which came out last fall. He gave no indication of whether the band would record or tour again." So, I suppose there was a bit of foreshadowing this break-up would commence eventually. It's sad to report, but I'm sure we can expect great things from all the former musicians of Audioslave.
